PLANNED PROJECTS
Marubeni signed a MOU with the Ministry of Electric Power (MoEP) for 400MW gas-fired power plant in Thanlyin Township. The project is undertaken by Marubeni, Global Power Synergy and Eden Group. It is $400m investment. The construction will be commenced in 2016 and expected to complete in 2020.

A Marubeni-led consortium was commissioned by the MoEP to conduct a feasibility assessment on a 2,000MW coal-fired plant in the Tanintharyi region of southern Myanmar.

In February 2016, Marubeni announced a $17.5m investment fertilizer plant in the Thilawa SEZ. It is a JV project.

In December 2019 it was announced that Marubeni and six other companies had formed a consortium to construct a 1,250MW LNG-to-power plant and fuel terminal at Thilawa Special Economic Zone (SEZ) valued at $2bn.
